In honor of Leslie Knope and female friendship everywhere, Happy Galentine's Day!!
Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day too.
Some of us love it, some of us hate it, and some of us don't give any forks (that's me). But one thing we can all get behind this February 14th is cocktails.
So to celebrate this Hallmark holiday, I'm making my famous blood orange margaritas. Nothing says Valentine's Day like drinking too much tequila and taking your clothes off.
3 oz. (90 mL) fresh blood orange juice
2 oz. (60 mL) silver tequila
1 oz. (30 mL) fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. (15 mL) Cointreau (or triple sec)
1/2 oz. (15 mL) simple syrup or agave nectar
1. If you want a salt or sugar rim on your margarita, place some sugar/salt on a small plate, rub the rim of the glass with a blood orange or lime slice, and then dip the rim in the sugar/salt.
2. Combine all ingredients into an ice filled cocktail shaker, shake for 10-15 seconds, and then strain into the glass over a few ice cubes. (Or combine all ingredients in the glass, add ice, and stir.)
3. Make bad decisions.
